Sydney-based, outsourced sales and marketing firm, GEM Pty announce that demand for their campaigns has increased by close to 11% over the last quarter.
A survey of 2200 small businesses conducted by Freelancer revealed that the rate of small businesses outsourcing to overseas businesses grew by 35% this year. The survey also found that 52% of those surveyed said that outsourcing work to consultants and freelancers has been central to the growth of their business over the past 12 months.
A majority of small businesses in 2014 realised that rather than ignore the work that they can’t do themselves, they can outsource it. Small businesses are also outsourcing more because the growth in outsourcing gives them confidence and protection. Small businesses are now able to manage a diverse workforce with reliable and easy to use project management systems.
More and more businesses are looking to outsource as it reduces their costs by transferring portions of work to outside suppliers rather than completing it internally. Outsourced sales and marketing allows companies to attract and maintain a sales force without having to make them employees. It represents a quick way by which service providers or manufactures can access distribution, and is becoming increasingly more popular.
GEM Pty has highlighted the many benefits to outsourcing:
Lower Costs – There are huge cost savings to be had when choosing to outsource, especially for those that are start-up businesses. Outsourcing enables entrepreneurs to focus solely on their own business and keep initial costs to a minimum. Instead of having to recruit a number of people with different skills to work in their business in makes much more financial sense to outsource and pay per task, that way the money saved can be spent on other key aspects to the business.
Flexibility – Small businesses change massively from year to year and perhaps sometimes even month to month. Outsourcing allows entrepreneurs to remain fully flexible in their business model. Small businesses can completely change their approach and even the country that they are trading in really easily if they are using outsourcing firms.
Prepared if things go wrong – Small businesses that outsource are a lot better prepared if something were to go wrong than a company responsible for a large permanent workforce. If an SME loses a contract or its turnover drops drastically, it’s much easier to make cuts where needed if they are outsourcing.
Experience – Outsourced services are often cheaper because the providers are experienced experts, usually with a sizeable sales team behind them and can therefore pass efficiency saving onto customers.
